p.s. i havn't said one nasty word out of this whole thing just trying to discuss it and everybody getts defensive
i'm sorry i can explain soomething thats over your head
this is not something done evey time a big player want to purchase product
its done when the distributor does not make there target
has nothing to do with volume purchases

from what i've read the only poster here that knows whats going on is oldoneEye

pinhead, I for one will not argue with you but you are over stepping your bounderys I must say.
Are you a store owner? If so how would you KNOW what goes on, it has abolutely nothing to do with you? sorry but your at the bottom of the food chain as far as information goes.
and instead of rolling us all into one, please do name names as most brands have nothing to worry about, your naming a very select few and making a bad name for us all.

first of all i don't want to make enemys in the industry
i have brought it up with several distributor i deal with to which they denied it even goes on
when i started telling them what i knew the story changed
as i said i talked to a few reps that don't work for the mojor companys and they knew exactly what i was talking about
the companys are all the major head unit companys to which there are only 5or 6 of in the first place
as oneEye said in his post the industry does it and then talks out of the other side of his mouth saying it dosn't
my concerns are and i don't really care if you don't like me caring is
i as a dealer is subjected to requirements as a dealer to then have our market undermined by them is a concern
i build up a product in my area to see it being sold for nothing or even better at a car detailing shop or pawn shop for less than i pay for it it b.s. in my books

So to me Pinhead, it sounded like you were angry with FS and BB, but by your last staement it would seem to be the manufacturers who are actually do the actions you are against? Like it has been said, there are many brands that offer protection to their independant dealers.
