You have 1.8 cubes vented, tuned to 45hz. About 1.6 with sub displacement looks like.

yeah, type R work well in ported...
Alpine rep's gonna let me know about exact size, because you can't find reccomended sizes for that sub anywhere.
Alpine makes ported boxes for their type R's.

they don't generally list a ported box size other than on the www.crutchfield.com website ...but yikes, 45hz hmmm even sounds high to me....i woulda thought that he'd tuned it to around 30-35ish. What kinda difference should i expect in dropping the tuning to around 30-35?

That being said, i need a new box since the old one doesn't fit well in the jeep anyways. He's in calgary which makes things a lil tougher now.

Any of you edmontonians like to build box's???

BOX SPECS according to crutchfield, who said they came from alpine:
Sealed Box Volume (cu ft) 0.7 - 1
Ported Box Volume (cu ft) 0.75 - 1.75
Port diameter (inches) 4
Port length (inches) 13

*Don't feed me the build you own (even as much as you want to you must refrain). I don't have the tools...and i'm just not handy with the wood working stuff - it wasn't meant to be! Computers i can work with to a point, but woodwork is not for me.*
