Need Alpine schooling

I've been wanting to change up my Eclipse 8061 to a unit that can control a processor to run my system active. Can somebody please explain for me how the Alpine PXA H700 works, will most of their HUs control it or? I see they have the controller (RUE something?) but where do you mount that or are you supposed to use a CD stacker with that? Can I use a deck like the DVA9860 to control the PXA H700 and whats the difference with the PXA H701? Any Alpine schooling would be great

Sassmaster has H700 I believe. I briefly talked to him and he said this unit "has" the controller in it. So it can be used by itself.
Sassmaster will chime in and explain it all in detail.

If you are interested in H701 unit, it needs a controller. Or can be controlled by w200, d900(if i'm correct), and another *00 model, don't know the letter, and the 9860 too, but that's not so goody good.

Thanks for the link df.dima
I only picked the 9860 from the line up because I don't want a unit that has glide touch or flip face stuff, hell I don't even want DVD voodoo but thought it looked clean. I just want a HU that plays single CDs as clearly and as cleanly as my 8061 but will also control a processor that I can run my tweets/mids/subs active. The way I kind of understand it some of the HUs control it but don't sound so great with the type of hook-ups they use? The Alpine brochure I picked up doesnt explain jack. Maybe I should just buy a AC DQXS or the likes and use it with the eclipse?

Ok just seen a picture of a PXA H700 on the net and it looks like it comes with a display unit (looks like a HU) and a processor and wiring, so does that mean the 701 is just the processor?

The H701 dosent have any controls on it. You need to purchases the controler or get a deck that has the ability to control it. The 9860 will do it ,but due to the small screen on the 9860 it a little tricky. If you can, I would suggest getting the controler. It's really easy to use and it worth the extra cost.

I have the 9860 and H701/controler in my car.

Where did you mount the controller, in the dash?

Actully I keep it out of sight. But many people do put it right in the dash. Its din sized so the install isnt too tricky.

So do I have this right, I could buy a PXA H700 and amount the display/controler in the rear (out of sight) and run my 3 rcas from the Eclipse HU into the processor and call it good, wouldnt need a Alpine HU?
It dosnt give me control from the HU but I dont think it would be something I would play with once set.

The H701 will work with any head unit. But the controler will be required if you dont have the proper Alpine unit.
