I was under the impression that the H701 was fibre optically connected?

If you like your Eclipse deck and just want the processing I would say just get an outboard processor and match it with your Eclipse.

This would be a good option:
http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/5314

For $150 with all these features:
* 6-channel fully digital sound processing
* 24-bit digital signal processor (DSP) engine
* 7-band fully parametric equalizer
* Independent EQ settings for each channel
* Fully variable 3-way crossover
* Selectable 6, 12, 18, or 24 dB/octave crossover slopes
* Variable 0-70 msec time alignment for each channel
* Parametric Q BASS bass boost
* Wired controller with blue backlight
* 2-line x 16-character LCD display
* 5 user presets
* USB connection for PC updates
* 2-6 channels input/2-6 channels output
* Fully configurable input-to-output mapping
* Adjustable 250mV-12V input sensitivity
* 7.5V RMS preamp line driver
* Remote turn-on with programmable delay
* LED power & output clipping indicators
* Includes in-dash trim ring

There's a good thread at ECA regarding it if you want more info.

Thats what my original intention was but I posted up the question a while ago and got no real ideas on a unit that would work good for my aplication other than "Audio control makes some nice units" so......? Eclipse made a DSP unit for these HUs but I have been told they werent that great? Would you have a link to that thread at the ECA?
Thanks

I agree with fozz... the H700 is the older model, and came with the controller as part of the package, the H701 is newer (same exact thing really) but the controller is seperate.

The H701 will work with ANY deck. As long as the deck has alalog inputs! But it also has optical inputs which is what I would recomend using.

I'm runnig a 3 way front end.

The only problem I see with that processor is that it might not be available anymore, and after you order it, ike might not refund you real money, just give you a store credit or whatever. I'm just saying be carefull. vbmenu_register("postmenu_219418", true);

If you looking to save lots of money, a friend of mine is selling his 510 (older model of the 701).

Should be pretty cheap.

Lightbulb

I have an H700 as well. I really like it - excellent value.

I mounted the controller in the glove box.
