i know some of the older would sometimes loose there settings usually 10-15 minutes of driving will allow it to reset its parameters
could be part of the problem

You alternator has nothing to do with power steering.

Why don't you check to see that your accessory belt is tight.

Not really, not everyone can by JL gear dude. That amp is still a $400-500 amp regardless of anything. I remember my system at his age and I was so proud of it and then I had a issue with a amp as well and went to a shop to get it looked at and was told "Why dont you throw it all out and get some good gear!" this is one reason why shops p me off so bad. Is because in there eyes if your not playing with there equipment or the "MAINSTREAM" equipment. Your a joke. That amp costs a fraction of a RF or MTX and yet keeps up with some of there amps. Even though it is overrated. It will still produce 1000-1500wrms true power but again at a fraction of the cost. Some people believe that all there money should not go into there car audio system. If you ask me those people are the smart ones.
