Need Help Upgrading Car Audio System
#11
No one has mentioned upgrading the big 3?
Reviewing speaker placement before changing equipment? Sometimes placement can overcome a quality upgrade, if you're starting with a poor location, even better speakers will still not sound optimal.
Adding baffles/rear eanclosures to the door and/or rear shelf speakers to reinforce the sound/add power handling?
Not taking anything away from any of the above suugestions, but throwing money at a problem is sometimes just throwing money.

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. This is what I finally purchased:
Kicker QS65.2 for front
Kicker RS65.2 for rear
Kicker ZX650.4 to hook above speakers
2 10" JL Audio Subs hooked with Alpine MRP-M1000 Mono Amp from past.
System is really LOUD and sounds AMAZING. The person who installed it for me, did an amazing job installing, deadening & tuning system. Here is the difference I noticed with new set up:
1. No Rattles or Vibration
2. Loud Clear Sound with NO distortion at all, even at Maximum Volume
3. Bass/Vocals are balanced so they're both Loud.
So, Yes. I am happy with my system. The reason why I did not go with Boston Acoustics was, they're more expensive, I couldn't find a good dealer & Installer for these. My installer did a lot of extra little things for me free of charge. I paid $200 for installing everything.
For Sale:
Kicker RS65.2 - 2 years old on sale. They still sound great and louder than any of the Futureshop or Best Buy speakers. Asking Price $80, obo.
Alpine SPS-610 - Brand new Co-ax speakers, good for normal people who don't want their system to be extra loud or to fill up the rear. Asking Price $60, obo.
MTX TC4004 - 400 RMS 4 Channel, Could also be used in 2 Channel Mode. 2 Years old and works perfect. Asking Price $120, obo.
