Ya ok That makes sense. Ya I would like to install everything myself. Everything seems to be some what easy except for installing amps and connecting speakers and subs to them. If you have the wiring harnesses it looks pretty easy, im not the best with soldering but im sure I would be able to do it.

Ya so is 1000 bucks a good estimate for how much it would cost for speakers subs, sub enclosure, and amps/wiring kit.

If you dont mind me asking Metal76 How much have you spent on your audio system around.

I also have another question. Would it be best to start upgrading slowly or just save my money and once i have enough buy all the stuff at once?

Ya I already asked Rob. I think im just gonna wait until i get more money then he will hopefully help me.

Im might just buy a deck for starters though.

Start out with a deck, then a set of subs, then base your amp off what ur subs can handle, get the subs installed then move on to your speakers, you will be amazed by how good a sub can make a stock system sound (especially in the newer cars) once that's done upgrade to. Four chanell amp for your speakers and then upgrade ur speakers and ur done, that's how I did mine. And I havnt even replaced my OEM speakers yet, to do the install find somone who knows what there doing to help u, if u **** it up you can **** up your car in the end, witch like me I doubt you want to do. I was in your position two years ago kid, I said the same thing ur doing. One thing I learned, if ur in over your head find someone experienced, if I lived in bc I'd help u. But I don't, m2nr has already offered to help use him to your advantage he's intelligent and will hook u up. If u wanna know how much I spent ob my system ill break it down for u and most of my stuff is high end (some ppl will beg to differ) but w.e.

Breaking down my shizit:

Deck I started out with a. 300 dollar kenwood, now I have an 800 dollar touch screen kenwood

Sub: I started out with 2 12" jl audio w3s (midend JL subs) wich cost me around 600 now I have a JL w7 13.5 inch that's worth around 1000.00 if not more (high end)

Wiring: started out with a 4 gage kit wich was around 60 now I have 500 dollars worth of 0 gage. That's right 500 dollars in just wiring.

First amp for subs: I bought a used 600 watt amp for like 100 bucks, now I have a 1500 watt amp by clarion worth around 600 I think.

Second amp: started off with a 240 watt clarion witch I got for cheap. Ill post a link to pictures of my car when I go home.
And that's where I'm at now two years later.
Good luck and keep asking questions. It will get u far. These guys are very experienced!

My system was just under 2k before install. rob supplied me with everything i needed, minus one set of RCA's for my sub amp...another 50 bucks(?). I feel i've given myself a really good platform to build off of. next items (not sure when) will be a stronger 4 ch, 2 matching 10's in sealed enclosures and sound deadening for the trunk. that might be a ways off though(sorry rob). i was very happy with the price i paid as no one in my town had the eclipse gear, and second the service i received from the townies pissed me off to no end. Rob is my exclusive supplier for car audio goodness for life, and i'm gonna make an effort to learn more so i can do the upgrades myself.

my suggestion would be to find a reliable source and buy used it will save you alot of money like right now i have 3 12 inch powerbass subs in a sealed custom box and a 1000 watt rms alpine amp and paid like 600 for it and have switched my system around about every three months and i rarely lose money when i sell my systems after i am done with them if you tune everything right and everything gets set up right you will rarely blow anything and i have a alpine pdx 4.1 which i paid 300 for only used for 1 week because buddy dummied his car so there are great deals out there you just have to establish sources i get calls all the time about audio and you have to be willing to look but when you actually go see the stuff know what you are looking at/for and if you dont bring someone who does so honestly i wouldget used and one other suggestion run 0 guage threw your car to start and you can always use distribution blocks to wire it down to the guage you need because it is a huge inconvenience if you have to take your wire all out and rewire it with bigger wire because once you start most people want to keep moving up and getting louder

First of all that is an interesting route, sooner or later you will get burnt but it is a good way to test if you really dont know what you want.
Secondly consider punctuation that was a long sentence and it dilutes what you were saying which was quite bright.
