Well, I got off my lazy butt yesterday and rewired my components to run full active. All I have to say that it was worth it. My mids and tweets play alot louder, even after turning down the gains. There seems to be alot more punch and detail coming from the mids. I'm hearing some detail that I've never heard before from my tweets.
Just a small problem. Now I have to spend countless hours to eq the mids and tweets again. Also I notice during female vocals, when they sing any lyrics with a word ending in a "S", it sounds like "SSSSSSS". It's like a long ringing "S" sound. I know I can fix that with the eq. Do you guys know what freq. I should tone down?
What thanx for all your input and help guys, especially "Defro"

no problem, you have seen for yourself the advantage of digital x-over over passive, remember, what you have is digital not active. big difference, using the digital eq in your deck will also not give you the phase problems assiciated with non digital eq, happy tuning

For anyone building passive X.O.s:
Just forgot to mention bus bar wire. It's the stuff used to link all the components together. Use 16 awg or larger, and if you can find it and afford it...silver plated 6N copper.
Dereck, when you get serious about building your passives, give me a shout. My Dad has a some stuff he might be willing to sell. When I was rumaging around his lab last week, I saw bulk packages of various value 1% resistors still vacuum sealed and spools of 14 awg silver plated 6N bus bar wire. (along with lots of other treasure.
