Yeah, I know, I am all about the solen catalogue, I have had a spool of silver solder lying around here for awhile as well as some WBT RCA ends that I wouldn't mind using one day.

 

iwould pick digital over both, active suffers from the same issues as passive, i dont know why you would try to manipulate and undesirable problem(phase shift) into a possibly marginal adavantage(an unlikely one at that)when you could eliminate that as a problem (passive x-over phase issues)with digital, not active which is what the original post was asking, that was my point, i have built alot of passive xovers over the years, and experimented with changes to them and it was cool to test and listen for changes, besides its fun just dickin around, playin with you cars stereo but i always hoped for and inexpensive digital method and now that its here i couldnt be happier(and not because its easy)setting a digital xover is complicated as well, and can take many hours of listening and changing, just like comparing passives

 

no problem, you have seen for yourself the advantage of digital x-over over passive, remember, what you have is digital not active. big difference, using the digital eq in your deck will also not give you the phase problems assiciated with non digital eq, happy tuning
