newb question (tuning)

hey im new as you can tell but i was wondering what does it mean to tune your box? how do you do it? any tips and suggestions? thanks in advance.

With a ported box, the volume of the box along with length and area of the port will determine tuning. You can tune by increasing/decreasing the port area or length, or by increasing/decreasing the volume of the box (while leaving port size constant)

Tuning the box means making a port (hole) that is designed to output a specific frequency.

A bigger, longer port gets a lower tuning frequency. Generally.
