Okay so bare with me as im not good with this stuff at all...

I just got an audiobahn A8002T amp and im in the process of getting a pioneer DEH-7700mp car deck and soon a sub. But my question is this..first my amp is pretty powerful and i will need a cap i believe but what i am wondering is that i purchased an amp wiring kit from wal-mart. The only thing i am worried about is its not 4 guage, its 5 is this a big deal? will it hurt the amp in any way? i have seen a cheap wiring kit from sonic electronix here

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_52.html

is this one a lot better?

the one from wal-mart i have is this one...

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...96481%3A133274

and also, i have a 93 civic hatchback and am wondering is 14 feet is good enough to go from the battery, to the hatch, lol, at the end of the car? i mean its a small car, but i dont even know where the wire passes through to get there

anyways, if someone wouldn't mind taking the time to help out a newbie, id greatly appreciate it.

5 gauge is really close to 4, so that's ok. I think 5 might be a typo with the advertising anyways...

You won't need a cap. Good battery/alternator/upgraded underhood wiring will be lots.

14 feet should be tons for a civic hatch. Maybe someone familiar with that car can enlighten you as to a good place to run it thru the firewall.

And your amplifier is nowhere near what it claims to produce unfortunately. It is much closer to 100w x 2 into 4 ohms or 400w x 1 bridged, not the 800 that it is claiming. A quick look at amps with the similar size fusing will show you the drastic difference in how manufacturers claim their ratings. A 8 gauge wire kit is probably as small as you want to go for this amp. If the Scosche kit that you linked to above is what you have, it is more than adequate for your amp.

i have that Scosche kit as well. i'm powering a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X810D (800RMS or thereabouts) and it does the job fine. i have no complaints with the wiring kit at all. 14ft is plenty for a hatchback

Caps are a debatable upgrade for the average system, search for the topic on here and you'll see what I mean...

The big 3 are the wiring upgrades that may eliminate the need for the cap...battery to ground, alternater to battery and alternater to ground...
