Which one do you think is the best deal ?

Hey guys!
New to the forums, and i'm also a new driver.
I spent most of my life focusing around Dirt Bikes, Pedal Bikes, etc..
Now that i have a car, and i want a nice sound system, i want this to be my new hobby and i'm learning along the way.

I went store to store seeing what would be the best bang for my buck, i just want Subs and Amp for now, and i'll buy the speakers later when i have more money, but these are my options.

Visions Electronics:
Alpine Type R 12" - $ 225.00
Alpine MRPM 1000 - $ 350.00

Custom Car and Audio:
Clarion PXW1251 12" - $ 199.99
Kenwood KAC9104D - $ 399.99

J and A Audio
Kaption SPL12 12" - $ 199.99
Kaption LW1.100 - $ 350.00 ( I think it was Kaption Amp )

The sound system will be going into an 02 Honda Civic Coupe.
And i'll be running Two 12" Subs
Any help and tips or advice is greatly appreciated !

Thanks !

Steven

::EDIT:: If it helps, i mainly listen to Hip Hop, Rap, and R&B

Out of those: the Alpine's. The Type R subs are better than the other two options there. They sound very good and get quite loud. Don't require a huge box, are fairly efficient, and can take some abuse. The Clarion's just aren't in the same league. The Kaption SPL series are meant to get loud and because of this they aren't in the same league as the Type R in sound quality so I would pass on them.

The Alpine's can be found cheap on Ebay btw.
That Alpine amp is a solid performer as well.

Agreed you can't go wrong with a pair of R's for getting into this hobby. Put a pair on 1000 RMS and you will be quite happy. I built a separate chamber/slot port box for a pair today and shoehorned it into a 2001 Celica. I used Alpines suggestion of 1.7 cube (gross internal) tuned to 33hz for each sub. The lows were pounding and I was even impressed by some of the higher frequency tones that it was hitting. I have installed 12 inch type R's in various configurations (ie one sub sealed, one ported, 2 ported) and it seems to me as long as they get 500 RMS a piece, they seem to do well

The Alpine equipment for all the reasons already listed. Get a cheap gift card off the buy/sell/trade and buy it at Best Buy / Future Shop.

You can go the eBay store / used classifieds route but if you don't know what you're doing you might end up in a worse situation ...

eBay is safe and then it isn't. You gotta be on eBay to buy on eBay or be willing to search (for a while) before you jump and buy something.
There's a lot of official re-sellers on eBay who just happen to run on a store on eBay. Doesn't mean the items are stolen or used or anything of the sort, it's just all on eBay. But then you might have to pay shipping out the @$$ ...

Find a reliable American with a good price and give yourself room for shipping / taxes, or find a Canadian with an amp or sub they haven't used or have the warranty and receipt for (I see a lot of those) ...

A lot of variables out there. Search and you will find.

Look at the surround of the Type-R, it's not a smooth S-type curve, AKA it's multi-roll like a huge wave that gets smaller as it goes towards the center. $200 for a 600W sub isn't cheap anymore.
