Hey offhisroca,

It may be a factory amp is not turning on in your truck? Also, check to see that the output IC is not set to off in your head unit. Does it happen on both cd and tuner sources? If it works only on one source and not the other, use the blue/white wire for factory amplifier trigger.

Hope this helps!

its not a factory amp its a two chanell soundstream. the amp is turning on. yes both cd and tuner has the same affect. im going to read the manual for the deck to try and find the output IC

Are all the speakers being run off the amplifier? If you are using the front/rear RCA to the amplifier, the output IC on/off will not be the problem. It may also be a setting issue on the amplifier. Perhaps check the crossover settings as well as the input settings on the Soundstream. Also, if you are using passive crossovers, make sure the inputs/outputs are correct, if there are jumpers make sure they are set in the right order. If all of this is right, and you do not have a short in the speaker wires/RCA there may be a problem with the amplifier. Have a shop do a quick check out of the install/amp/deck if you're still stuck.

Hope this helps!

so i got my multimeter out and tried to find the problem. i fould the output IC and it didn't make a diffrence. there is power coming out of the decks speakers wire and the rca cable but NO power from the amp to the speakers. i dont have any speakers running off the deck. only a pair of front speakers for the amp.

would this mean the amp is the problem. if its getting all the power it need but no power to the speakers?
