I seriously don't get everyones attitude about this. I mean, so the guy doesn't know his stuff. Big deal.

I'm sure I could talk circles around a few people here about what I do for a living, and vice versa.

^^^ Here's a perfect example. While the guy might sound dumb right off the bat he kinda makes sence. (Depending on what game he's looking at)

First you do need to know what kind of HD the kid has. If he's got an older PC without much drive space then a lot of games will just kill his system. (700+MB installs)

Also need to know what kind of video card he has because the game may require a certain calibre of 3D accelerator that he doesn't have.

Now the DVD/CD thing is about the only thing that you could really fault him for, but wtf. At least the guy knows enough to be aware that if the game came on DVD that he wouldn't be able to play it if he only has a CD-Rom. (he just didn't know that there really aren't any games that come exclusively on DVD).

So now I can snicker at you because you've shot your mouth off without really knowing what's up?

So why don't we all just drop the 'holier than thou' attitude and cut people some slack. I'm sure you all said some pretty stupid stuff when you were first learning about car audio.
</font>
Most people on here spew from the mouth and they have no clue. I find it amusing only because they believe they are car audio gods. The truth is the only know enough to get themselves into trouble.

</font>
I don't have a problem with someone not knowing something. But this guy is talking to his wife like she's stupid and he's a genius. He can't say he doesn't want to look at games, but rather yell at her in a store in front of lots of people.

People, as a whole, are quite ignorant in general, I find. If everyone thought analytically and skeptically about everything, then society would not exist, because no one would ever 'follow' those who led, because they would be too busy questioning everything. How do you figure governments, armies, and religions survive in the face of massive analytical ceriticism? They survive because their MASSES follow them blindly.

You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him think

The problem is, no one wants to look stupid when inquiring about stuff.

Everyone is wrong sometimes, but its hard for some people to admit that, or hard for them to accept whats 'right', if it is different from what they think/hear/etc. This is true in everything.

The most knowledgable people are the ones that recognize that they know nothing. The problem specific to car audio, as I see it, is that most people, in general, dont CARE how their stuff works or why it works, they just want it to work.
