just wondering if anyone has had similar problems with a pioneer unit and any possible solutions. the HU is a Pioneer Premier 360, purchased about a year ago.

Just recenlty when ejecting the CD i have been getting a problem, the disk only comes out about a 1/2". 1 little nudge up or down on the cd causes it to come fully out but this shouldn't be happening obviously. anyone have any ideas? thanks

Steve

I've been through 2 Pioneer models that have done that to me (DEH-P4300 and a DEH-P7300) I had them fixed at a local repair shop, and the problem was the CD eject mechanism was not grabbing the CD properly, causing it to come out only about 1/2" like yours is doing. I had warranty on both, but i assume it wouldn't cost very much to get repaired if it was coming out of your own pocket. good luck

Have a look at how the disc slot opening is relative to the dash opening. Is it aligned properly? I've a few models on store displays have this happen to them. The problem was that the opening putting a little too much pressure on the disc slot & caused the disc to catch.
You could check this by taking your thumbs right under the lip of the disc slot & pressing up a few times. This might relieve the pressure on the opening.

If that's not it, send it into your local service centre & it should be repaired under the Premier two year warranty.

Seems to be a common problem....I've sent nearly a dozen units in for warranty lately. There's a part that needs to be glued that's slipping.
It's common to all the Pioneers and Premiers, from the 360 through to the 960. Otherwise the line has been relatively trouble free.

BTW, how do you like the parametric EQ feature on your 360?

i'll see what i can do, i might just have to take it in to get repaired. the built-in EQ on the 360 is nice, but limitied, i really don't think it offers that much control which is why im going to an offboard 11 band eq.
