ported and sealed

hummm just for fun today i decided to block 1 port off my box. ( 2chambers)

my box is tuned at 37ish hz. i dont know y but it sounds so dam good with one sub sealed and 1 sub ported. why is that????

its punchy for rock and has great low end extention. not as loud but sounds great.. and everything is running off one amp LPF at 80hz and SS at 32ish

im still learning so im just looking for a reason y it does this. its kinda like having my setup with a diaphram ( fake sub )

Do your subs share a common chamber in the box?

Mono amp or stereo amp?

I'm guessing it sounds good because you're getting the best of both worlds . . . yet the box is likely large for a sealed, so that could also help your low end extension. Try sealing both ports and tell us what you think.

i tryed both sealed and it goes deep but not so much up close to 50 to 80hz.

my previous systems were bandpass and sealed. sealed was nice but not loud. ported is loud but not enough SQ. might be my little screw up in the box design lol. but 1 sealed and one ported just gets me to where i want it. loud and nice SQ

im running a monoblock. the OH GREAT EXILE S1000.1 LMAO temp till i get a new setup hahhaha. my subs are soon to blow anyway so at this point im just experiencing and im not willing to build a new box for soon to blow subs :P

probably just means your box is either too small or there is not enough loading inside of the box. or both.

well sold the amp subs are coming out and box is garbage lmao

by optimum box for ported it asked for 2cf. i have 2.1 per sub. but i think i might of screwed up the port tuning when i designed it.

they are crossed at 80hz cause midbass isnt solid enough to play down to 50hz... i tried it for a few weeks with LPF at 50hz and im missing alot of info. so i have to crank it back up to 80hz

anyway from what you can see in my sig. when things are gonna get done i will have enough midbass to slap me in the face and be able to tune it lower
