Pre-amplifying signal from iPod to HU?
I found a pre-amp kicking around that my dad used to use to hook his record turntable up to our home stereo, he's not around anymore and neither is the turntable so I'm wondering if I can somehow use the preamp to process the signal between my iPod and my HU's auxiliary input. Would this be beneficial in any way or would it be a waste of time? :P
Oh and secondly, can the signal from the iPod be clipped? I heard that you shouldn't turn the volume up all the way on it because then it sends a pre-clipped signal to the HU. Does this have any essence of validity?

It's some Radio Shack preamp, it's stereo. It runs off of a 9V battery, here's a link Stereo preamp | Turntables | Ratings & Reviews | TheSource.ca

You will not see any SQ gains with a low budget piece like this, you'd be in to at least $200+ to up-convert a signal enough to justify having another piece in your signal path. If you're truly concerned about signal quality I would just use a dual layer DVD and burn High B/R filetypes that are ripped from original discs and up-converted using professional software, not just $39.99 30 day trial specials.

Alright, thanks for your input. I really wasn't expecting much and it's not something I'd want to have in my truck constantly, but I was just wondering if it would work. :P I just posted this for curiosity's sake.
