Stay away from that salesman! idiots like him deserve to be rapped by a herd of crazed mountain goats!
with either product you will have EXCELLENT sound quality. there is more importance on the box than the sub itself. if you want the best combination of SQ/SPL, hit the brahma. you will not be disapointed.

Eve if you decide to buy the JL I would not go back to that guy. Adire makes excellent subwoofers. Some of the best SPL/SQ mixed woofers imo. imo, Adire is way better "bang-for-the-buck"

Both are excellent products. Of course the salesman is going to say his product is the best. Most do.
As long as you are feeding it more than 500rms I would take the Brahma.

One cubic foot is 12" wide by 12" high by 12" deep (1728 cubic inches). For example, if you have 30" wide, 16" deep, and 16" high to work with that will be approximately 4.4 cubic feet, outer dimensions. You have to take off 1.5" per dimension for 3/4" MDF, to account for the wood, and also subtract the driver displacement. So it would be 28.5 x 14.5 x 14.5= 5992.1 divided by 1728 to get it back into cubic feet, which equals 3.46 cubic feet, minus the sub displacement. Hope this helps a bit.

Most people that sell JL that I have seen just have a JL hardon and think it is the best thing in the world.

It is great equipment but too damn expensive.

I don't have experience with the woofers described but I was under the impression that the Brahma was on the level of the JL W7.

I disagree...I have heard both, and believe the w7 is a superior driver.

Ok my bad sorry for the false information. Like I said that was just the impression I was under. Obviously it was not a right impression.

Again, I appologise.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
