quick amp choice please an thanks
Hello,
Im new to the whole audio world somewhat, after hours of reading forums an checking out others set up's i decided it was time for my own build. I have 2 exile 12" XPe12d subs in a ported box and looking for a 1200 watt amp at 1 ohm
4ohm dvc 600rms, 1200 peak
- ABS Injection Molded Grill
- One Piece Vacuum Formed Dustcap
- Long Throw Rubber Surround
- Ultra Rigid and Light Cone
- Progressive Linear Spider
- Cast Aluminum Basket
- 2.5” OFC High Temperature Voice Coil
- Double Stacked Motor Structure
and i am now stuck on my amp selection i am not to money bound and ruffly understand the $ a watt formula... so i came up with
MTX Thunder TA7801. http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/thunder7801.cfm
It's 1ohm stable at 1200rms or a
Hifonics BXI 1210D Amp http://www.hifonicsusa.com/Hifonics_Brutus_amplifiers.html with similar numbers.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these amps and if you would recommend one in paticular? or somthing completly different mind? Thanks.

I ran a hifonics bxi 2006d for awhile. Reliable amp, and probably the best bang for buck amps made, but they wont do rated power. So if you choose hifonics bxi brutus series, go for the next amp up, i believe its the 1610d

I have a clearout right now on a Pioneer Premiere amp. It is rated to 1200w rms into 1 ohm but most certainly makes far more power than rated. It is static mounted right now, meaning it is on display but has never seen power. (no need to demo such a amp anyways). It is still a current model, it is just time to move it is all. It is as new, full warranty.
