New System (Hertz & IDMax) - Best Amp Choice?

Putting together a system for my Camaro.

HU is a Pioneer P880, comps are Hertz MLK165’s and sub is the IDMAX 12” D4.

What is a good (powerful enough) amp to run my new Hertz MLK165 comps and 12" ID MAX? I understand the MLK's like lots of power.

Was considering an Alpine PDX-V9 but not sure if it will produce enough power (100w x 4) for the mids to benefit. As the sub channel is 500w x 1, it should suit the ID fine.

I was also considering the JL XD600/6 for the Hertz MLK's giving 75w to the tweets and 180w bridged for the Mids.

For a sub amp, I’m looking at:
Kenwood XR-1S (700w)
Sundown SAZ-1000D (600w)
Alpine PDX-M6 (600w)

Is there one that is heads above the rest?

Should I spend a bit more and pick up the JLAudio XD 600/1 OR just stay with the PDX-V9 and put $$ towards more Dynamat?

Out of the list the Sundown stands out. But I'd look for something closer to 1000w at 2 ohms for that IDMax. If you are looking at alpine then consider the MRP or MRD-1000, or the M110, in fact I have one that is almost NIB I could sell you. If you're looking at JL - the 1000/1. A sundown SAZ 1500D would be a better choice then the 1000. Then you'd get close to 1k to the sub, and not far from 2k if you decide to add a second IDmax down the road.

My budget is $750 max. I'd prefer to stay with a single amp for simplicity reasons. The amp(s) have to fit in an area 19.5" x 13.75" in the spare tire area of the car.

Is the Alpine not powerful enough?

Suggestions?

I prefer great sq with good volume.

If you're sticking with one sub you might as well get the most of it. I'd look for 1000-1200w rms at 2 ohms if I were you. That Idmax will shine with the extra power on tap.

Do you have an amp in mind that will power the ID Max & the MLK's but still fit within the space?

jl900/5 hd

especially for small space. end of story. by the way i have run hertz mlks and idmax's and the IDMAX do not need power at all 500 watts is plenty. they dont handle power well in my opinion.

budget might be a little tight for the JL.

What are your thoughts on the Alpine PDX V9?

IMO if you don't want to spend the $$ on the HD900/5 then the PDX-V9 is the second best choice in a compact 5ch amp.

Havent had any experience with the alpine. I'd also look at the hertz HDP5 for compact power and good value around 500$ as well as the JL Audio XD700/5 as the XD line up has quickly become one of my favourites
