Radio Reception Trouble

I have an AVIC-F700BT in my Maxima and it gets much poorer radio reception than the stock unit did. I had to use a 2pin to 1 pin antenna adapter and wondered if that is the cause. Anyone else have this problem?

I have noticed a significant decrease in radio quality with most of my aftermarket head units. I think crappy radio receptors are the norm.
