Radio reception help, Sony related
Hey guys and girls, new to the board here. Nice place you have
Anyways, here is my problem I hope you can help with. I recently bought a car and the previous owner had a Sony CDX-M670 Head unit and a Sony XDP-766EQ DSP installed. He didn't bother hooking up the radio as he only listens to cd's. Ok, so I take a look behind the h/u and see the factory antenna wire has two plugs, one female and one male. They both look like your typical antenna plugs.
So on the back of the h/u is a female connector. So i go down to Beamriders and I get this adapter cable and it plugs right in. I turn the unit on and get nothing. The power antenna works, and I know the unit receives the signal because it tunes it local station, yet I can't hear anything! I've tried the settings in the menu but can't get it to work. Any ideas? Does the DSP interfere with radio reception? Thanks for any help!

Hmmm not sure. The wires from the amp go into the back of the DSP. Looks like all the wires from h/u are wired up to the factory harness, so I guess thru the head unit. Its hooked up in such a way that the DSP is always on when the head unit is on. There is no on/off on the DSP.
I'm just about to head out to A+B and talk to someone there if they know whats going on.
