RE SX, Whats wrong with it?

so i got my buddy a practically brand new 15" RE SX with a crossfire VR1000D(1350ish RMS) and one day it just stopped working, i put my DMM on it and nothing came up so i thought maybe the speaker wires came loose inside the box, remove the sub and both coils don't read anything, tinsel leads look fine and are still silver in color, cone moves freely and i don't see any voice coils inside the magnet hole

any ideas?id take pics but im at my dads and don't have my digi on me

Practically new or not, it sounds like the voice coils are wide open, meaning that there is a break in them some where. This could also be the tinsel leads ripped off either the terminal or the voice coils themself which of course creates a open circuit. Time for a recone or a refund.

the place didnt want to cover it, said it was most likely abused but i could pay for shipping and see what the RE people would say and i might ahve to pay to get them to recone it once they got it, so i didnt bother as u can get a recone for like $80-100 from what i remember and shipping would of raped me
