Whats wrong with my IDAMX ?

Hey guys,
I bought a used 12" d2 IDMAX and just got home to get a look at it. It came in the box undamged which was good, but I think he sent me a bad "semi-bad" sub.
Everything looks ok, no rips or tears on the surround, but when I gently tap on the cone with my figertips it seems make an odd sound and a light scratching sound.

Is this repairable? The rest of the sub is in great condition. Just the cone I guess

I may just sell it to someone whos into repairing them. I have no idea how to repair subs. It does play. I hooked it up but it makes a kind of light rattling sound

Any thoughts? Thanks

You bought a blown sub, simple as that. If you can get new soft parts for it, then it can be repaired. Cheap, not really. How much did you pay for it and from where? Did the guy inform you that it was blown?

Sounds like the coil is unwound inside the gap or it was deffective from the factory and the coil isn't moving straight and is rubbing on the motor. That was a big waste of money unless it was almost free

It's also possible that the basket got slightly bent during shipping. Not sure what the basket is like on a idmax but if it's stamped then it can bend. Not sure if you can bend a cast basket
