Really confused.. need suggestions!

hey there guys.. im just really confused on which system to go with. this is gona be my first system ever.. but ive been researching alot for the past week or 2. I have 2 packages to choose between which im battling back and forth with. Both are RE audio.

First: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_28080_Combo-RE-Audio-SXX12D2-and-RE-Audio-VLX-1DE.html with 1/0 gauge wiring kit, custom enclosure, trunk dynamat, installing everything etc will total up to around 1200$.

Second: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_28085_Combo-RE-Audio-XXX12D2-and-RE-Audio-VLX-3DE.html with 1/0 gauge wiring kit, custom enclosure, trunk dynamat, upgraded alternator, 2nd battery, installing everything etc will total up to around 2100$.

Now im really confused abt wich package to rly go with :S i know the XXX is much louder and better, but this is going to b my first car audio system. Which package should i go with??

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone on this site that didn't want to spend more than they actually did on their system.

I'd add some cost to those numbers, there is ALWAYS things you need/want that you'll be buying by the time you call it a complete system .... Some better mids/highs maybe? amplify them? A monitor HU etc...
Easy choice for me...MORE is better

I'd keep looking, new /used/local etc....
Nothing wrong with RE Audio though

Wish the Vlx4de would be released..

thats totally true.. first i wasnt thinking abt making a custom enclosure now i am.. same with sound deadening but yea i do hav an aftermarket deck and also speakers/amp for em so im good to go with that. the person who i bought this car from ( mitusbishi eclipse ) had a type X in the car so he installed all that. So now im jus deciding wut to go with SX or XXX , will the investment in the XXX be worth it? or SX would be good enough? im not looking for competition or anything, jus wanna shake a ground a lil oh yea, and one more thing, does it really make a difference if its 12'' 15'' or 18''? i mean its the same RMS nd costs jus a few more bucks, so if any of u can explain that, it wuld b great also! thanks

In general, the more cone area a sub has, the more air it can move, the more potential SPL it has.
If everything on 2 subs were the same except the cone size..12 vs 15 lets say, then the 15 should be louder.

BUT, proper efficient box size goes up with the sub size, so take trunk space into account.

Both are good choices....More money, more boom

hmm now im thinking abt getting the 15'' instead of 12'' because its only like 40$ more nd the 18 would be a bit too big, but yea damn right shippings a pain in the ****.. around 250$ just for a sub/amp . wish there was a canadian distributor..
