I really would rather not go with a shallow mount sub. Can they even compare with a regular driver?. The Type S had 6 1/16" mounting depth and i probably wouldnt want anything deeper. I dont want to spend over $300.00 on the pair. This isnt the easiest application and i want to make a good decision based on the circumstances i have to work with. Thanks for the help guys. I cleaned out my inbox as well.

What are these drivers going to be like?

but if u guys really feel the need to flame me w/e thats your problem not mine, i gave the guy suggestion's....in some of the regular cab trucks they have some room for at least one ten and i thought that the RE se would be a good sub, but i guess were all know it alls here so carry on!

No reg cab truck has room for a ten that big, unless its built into a custom centre console, period. It is how it is, and although i appreciate your suggestions, stop whoring my thread. Thanks.

Two of them in parallel will give you your 4ohm mono load. They will be available under our own name most likely.
This is interesting...

Anyway, there's a thread over at ca.com regarding shallow mount subs you might want to look over. They list a number of different units that might fit the bill:

Let me know how it sounds, theres just something about shallow mount subs that i cant wrap my head around. I think im going to be building my ported boxes to fire into the back wall, so i will have so more room on the mounting depth. No custom center console.

Have you made that cardboard wedge yet? That will tell us all exactly what you have for mounting depth in left over. That alone will determine the type of sub for you.

Its way too cold out to be working in my truck right now. I just want a good idea of what subs i will be looking at getting and there mounting depths, then once it is time to build the box, my measurements will tell me what will work and what wont.
