your not protecting the amps. the fuse protects the wire!!

Also, some were 12 VDC and some were 14VDC, what is the difference?

Also, some were 20A, some were 30A and some were 40A. Which one do i need?

Thanks for your help.

the 12v 20amp relay is all you need. Each amp draw approximately 200 mA. So anything over 1 amp should be fine for all three of your amps.a 20 amp relay is just fine.
(and no worries, you cant damage anything by using a 20 amp relay when infarct you only need a 1 amp.)
Im using a 12v 30amp relay for my system. Im running 3 amps,4 fans, and 2 LED lights all off the one 30 amp relay.

you only need the 4 pin relay but any one would due.

hook 12v(+) to pin 30 (make sure you fuse this wire)
hook Ground(-) to pin 86
hook the 3 wires for the amps to pin 87 NOT 87a.( 87 supply's power when the relay is on)(87a supply's power when the relay is off)
and hook your remote wire from your deck to pin 85

When the relay is 'off' #87a and #30 are connected.

This is useful for things like starter kill on a car alarm.

My two JL Slashes have a remote from the front going into one of them, and then a jumper wire from that one to the other. No Car alarm installed. Should I relay these or are they ok as-is? If I another component (Audio Control EQS,) should I then begin considering it?

If I should get this done... are there any Car-Audio branded relays that look a little nicer? Or are nicer to mount to my amp board?

^^all the info is in the thread for you to decide if it's worth it or not. Personally i would just fuse the remote wire with a small 1 amp fuse for the 2 amplifiers. More than that I'd use a relay. In my case i have 5 components that need to be switched so i have a relay and a fuse.

dude why bother, If you ask me, less noticeable wires the better. My relay is hidden under my amp rack. the only wires you can see in my system are the ones going from one inverted sub to the other(even that bothers me) and the terminal for my third, flush mounted sub, is on the bottom so you cant even see that. But that's just me!
