Today the CRTC approved the application of three companies to bring satellite radio to Canada. The three companies are CSR (Canadian Satellite Radio - XM Satellite Radio), SIRIUS Canada & CHUM Ltd.
With XM & SIRIUS aleady operating in the US, hopefully it'll be a quick process in getting up & running. The CHUM application is for a terrestrial system which will take a number of years to get off the ground. Today is a great day for the 12V industry in Canada & I look forward to all the new opportunites that satellite radio will bring. :D |
Now I can finally get sat radio!! No wait that was 2.5 yrs ago. But this is great news for the industry.

sooo if i buy a sirius tuner (to go with my sirius-ready deck) about how much for the tuner/antenna? and more importantly... approx. how much does the luxury of satellite radio cost per month? i'd definately like to sign up too.. see what all the hype is about:D
|
I can't tell you what the Kenwood tuner might cost but I would estimate in the $150-$200 range (based on what I've seen for the XM & Sirius units for Pioneer).
Cost per month is estimated at $12 to $15 based on length of term & possible programming options. |
You can still get a lifetime sirius sub for 499.99 american until the end of this month. I'm gonna make some credit card room and do that for the end of the month. That's only 3 1/2 yrs of service anyways.

nice.... more reason to dump my Sony XM ready deck for a Eclipse Sirius deck so I can listen to Howard Stern.
|
cool. yeah definately something to look into!
|
so much for being able to make a few bucks selling it, now its going to be in walmart, canadian tire and so on. oh well sold enough over the last 3 years, had to end sooner or later
