Small Enclosure Sub?
Small Enclosure Sub?
For my new car I'm limited on space so I'm looking for a decent sub that uses a small enclosure. Right now I'm thinking a JL 10w6v2. It needs roughly 0.7cuft and that is my maximum for allowed space.
Any recommendations for a sub that requires a small box or will the JL be good?
My amp is a 1000.1bd Rockford Fosgate 1000Watts @ 2 OHM. My previous car was running two 12.1 Infinity Kappa's. I'm not sure what to expect from a single 10" sub.

Don't worry, you're better with lots of power in reserve, use it intelligently and you won't have any issue. make sure the gain is set to the minimum and don't use any bassbost, loudness...
alpine swx 1043 needs only .49 cubic feet net for a sealed application and uses 1000 watts rms, you'll need a box that's atleast 8.75" deep internally. Basically, if you can build a box that's 11x11x12.5 (outside dimensions)with 3/4 mdf you're good to go, as it will give you 0.508 cuft net (after sub displacement internal volume) and you can gain a little virtual volume by adding 1/2 pound of polyfill to achieve a volume of .63 cu ft. Excellent sounding sub, plenty loud, tough, 2ohm final load perfect for your amp...but a little expensive.
