Hey guys, I have a bunch of old school amps I'd like to put to good use. This is a zero expense setup since these are remnants from tons of other builds i've made on my other vehicles. So, in the car right now, I have some Xplodes, rated at 40 W RMS @ 4ohms, peak power 190W... not great, but whatever.
One possible setup is to go for this 4 channel Alpine 3527V Amp that sends 25W @ 4 ohms or 35@2ohms which seems underpowered. The other setup is two 2 channel amps, one rated at 60W@ 4ohms, the other at 70WRMS 4ohms per channel. So... should I risk the higher power with the 2 channel amps or stay boring safe at lower power?

Ok thanks for the reply... I ended up doing the installation, and I can see exactly what you mean... The sound is very rich, clean and powerful, but missing low end, and when I try to compensate for that, the speakers show lots of struggle.
So, for optimal sound, I still need to keep my subs... one of the points of this was to see if I could be satisfied without my subs, which need bit of work... but that's a question for another post.
