I'll tell what I am thinking, this is only my opinion. It is misleading for a Rockford rep to say that MTX is " and then getting made into cheap crap from malaysia, singapore, india, and lord knows where else -- I am kind of nostalgic for the days when goods were made in a factory and not a sweatshop..." and to exclude the product he represents, because "they are not famous for it" Heck MTX is not famous for their overseas stuff either, they are famous for their American made amps and subs. I don't care what someone is famous for, does Rockford have product built overseas? Yes. Is it bad because of it? No. Same with MTX. Both products have their supporters, and that is fine, but if you read the rules for this part it plainly states no personal attacks. I would include saying other companies stuff is crap in with that.
^^^^ Derek, I have not worked for Rockford for 9 months -- Also my views are mine and only mine. You have missed the point entirely -- I think I might have to re-start teaching english again... So what was the point then, that some companies can manufacture off shore, and you are fine with that as long as they aren't "known for that product" and the rest are sellouts?
I have a friend who is like that with music, all sorts of bands are sellouts for going to major lables, but one in particular can do no wrong, even though they even changes their "sound" after signing to a major.

All amps (even the P2002) are built in the USA. All subs (even P1 series) are built in the USA.
speakers/seperates built off shore (non USA).
And of course , the accessories (amp kits, fuse holders, RCA cables etc.) are built off shore.

Because something is made outside of the USA means that it is a inferior product I think is a pretty unfair statement. I would think that there is a difference between one company that sends the designs to a company overseas and have them build the product then have them ship the product back to the US and a company or companies that actually have systems and possibly even people in place to make sure that the quality is maintained.......................
Honda and Toyota (as well as others)design and manufacturer cars in the US and Canada, does that make them a inferior product to a Japanese built Toyota and Honda ? No, these companies have systems and procedures in place to maintain the QC............in fact certain models are shipped to Japan and sold there cause it is cheaper to do so now.

Tim,
I dont want to call you a liar, but none of the Rockford subs are made overseas....They are all made in Rockfords factory in Michigan. (thats why you did not see any in Phoenix). For 2004 Rockford spent millions of dollars re-vamping their woofer R&D & production lines...they truly do use state of the art tooling etc.
As I stated above, all amps and subs are manufactured in the USA. Coax & seperates & accessories off shore.
I challenge you to let me know what Rockford woofer you had that was made in China. The woofers clearly state made in the USA on them.
