Soundgate Interfaces ???

I just saw on the Soundgate WebSite that they have New Interfaces for radio replacement for 2006-2007 GM's. They call it LanStar and it comes in different versions. I'm planning on installing my Alpine 9855 in my monteSS, so I'll need the steering control interface as well.

I'm wondering, first, has this LanStar ever been used successfully? and second, has anybody got any opinions of Soundgates products in general and/or thier customer service? Be nice to know before I dump a bunch of money....

Thanx,

Tom

Oopps, maybe this should have gone in the install section?

I know 1 thing with the new LAN stuff they need a few vehicle option codes to get you the right piece.

I really wanted to buy retail in canada but heres what i found out.

Soundgate LANSTAR1 US MSRP 159.95 - Best canadian price 300.00
PAC SWI-ALP US MSRP 59.95 - Best canadian price 125.00
425.00 + 14% tax = 484.50 I don't have that much.

Both Items are imported by Matrix Trading. Why can't retailers buy direct from the manufacturer?
I'm a big fan of cutting out the middleman. I hate salesmen.

I'm off to by online from the US again. And i'm disappointed.
