HI guys. A guy I know from the states has the option of being sponsered by Blaupunkt:

So I dont know what to say: is this good? has any body have any experience with being sponsered by a company?

I was wondering if there are any strings attached.. and mandatory attendance to car shows.. as well as corporately planned installs and so on. Big thanks to any help or advise on this.

 

There are always strings. The question is on the level of sponsorship. He may find his weekends consumed showing the car or competing or some combination of things. Not a bad thing but it is not a freebie like many think, this is marketing money so they want a PR return on investment.

Lets say it wont be sponsored and sit in the garage.

 

i've seen many of these "sponsorship in a can" catalogs out there - you pay to be "signed up" and then it allows you to purchase gear at sponsored rates.

Basically nothing more than a cut rate grey-market outfit charging a fee to get the catalog Hopefully you're not talking about one of those.

are there any car audio companies that offer actual sponserships... such as Kaption.. I think they do IIRC.

How does a person go about getting sponsered?
