sub amp question

okay, this may sound like a stupid question...but in a ported dual 12" box, with the 2 type r subs on seperate mono amps with different rms wattages, this would cause potential damage to the subs right??, since one will be getting more power then the other?? and there in the same box???

by same box you mean same chamber or is there a partian between the subs making it two chambers?

if it's the same chamber, not good.

It is not a good idea to run 2 subs in the same box with different amps. Unless both amps are gain and output matched (meaning both subs get the same power) one sub will be pushing on the air more than the other.
Even if both amps are matched it is not good.If one sub or amp blows, then the other sub sees a box twice as big and can result in over excursion. If one sub actually ribs mechanically, as in surround separation, then the other sub sees free air and again, overexcursion.

So bottom line... get a box with a separattion, build a separation, or get 2 separate boxes...Before you blow both woofers! Those Type Rs are too nice and expensive to blow !

dont use it... 1 problem could transform into 2 problems.
and its true a box like that was in my friends s10, and one p2 blew up and he didnt notice, so then he was showing it off and it blew up. he couldnt tell because the blown sub looked working... ie passive radiator.
