I got a higher output level by running my components active. It doesn't make a big difference, but enough to matter it my opinion. I get cleaner sound at higher volume than i did with the passive crossover.
And, if it hasn't been said before, more power would help.
for those CDT speakers, I'd recommend a 150 wrms x 4 amp.

i like there older ones ............but i have not played with that one .......so i will not say if it is good or bad
