System

this is the beggining system im thinking of buying. any helpful advise would be much apperciated.

2 JL 12" w3v3
jbl GTO1201.1 II
1114Wrms Class D Subwoofer Amplifier
mtx TA5604 4-Channel Amp
alpine SPS-171A
alpine SPS-17C2

and im deciding wheither to go with the alpine CDE-9846
or the pioneer DEH-P680MP

thoughts? any changes i should make? and to keep things "cheaper" im going to be buying all these parts peice by peice
and then build myself a sealed box then probably take it all in to get installed.

sounds like a good system. you don't want to match the amps with the same brand? just a suggestion, more cosmetic than anything. both brands are great though. i'd do the pioneer over the alpine. easier to set-up and looks better too. peace

well i thought about getting the mtx ta5601 but i thought that if i decided to buy one sub thats more powerful that ill have the power needed already. and i can always hid the jbl somewere like behind the sub box or something and then have the mtx in the floor infront of the sub box for a nice clean simple look or something. or cover both amps so noone will see them, and i wouldnt have to worry as much about theft

ok well i think i might change the mtx to a jbl px300.4 and that should give me enough or even more than enough power for my component and coaxle. and besides that it will look more aethsetically pleasing i guess

In my opinion, just looking at fleabay prices. You can get alot more sub for the money then the JL 12" w3v3. The 2005/2006 Alpine Type R's come to mind.

As for amps I would go with the TA5604 and a TA81001.

As for the HU the pioneer DEH-P680MP looks cool.

I'd go with the Alpine deck myself. I used to have an old pioneer, upgraded to alpine.
When i went shopping for a new HU last year i had a good hard look/listen to the pio and then bought the alpine.

mmk ill take that into consideration, but now a question thats recently poped up into my head...cables. Im thinking of using 1/0 awg for the power cable and for the monoblock amp, then 4 awg for the multi channel amp. id probably just buy these kits from streetwires or something cuz it seems cheaper to buy the kits. now do these seem like proper sizes for the power im going to be using? im going with the jbl's ive mentioned in this thread before, just to lazy to repost the names.
