THANK YOU MTX........THIS IS TOO MUCH
I'm pretty sure he was only kidding.
The reason this is such a joke to people, is this.
DD has a great track record for being loud, and building a solid sub that cantake thousands of watts.
MTX has a great track record for coming out with something flashy that doesn't perform.
Also the DD has already done huge numbers.
The MTX apparently did a 140 something on pimp my ride.

I have not personally heard a DD product so I cannot down talk it or bash it because I don't know that much about it. I have heard they've done fairly well in the past few years with SPL. It's just a little false to say that MTX doesn't perform... They were the very first company to bring a car subwoofer / enclosure to market, so without them, where would this industry be? http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/awards.cfm
The Jackhammer on Pimp my Ride was basically an A/P install that was designed to show the general public what West Coast Customs can do and to bring the woofer to market. The woofer is designed for 8 - 10 cubes and before it's tested with the right amount of power in a proper box, how can you dis-credit it? I have no idea personally what it can do as I haven't seen or heard anything concrete yet to bass my opinion on but I do know what my single 10" with over 1,500 WRMS going to it sounds like and figure if it's as impressive as that on that much of a larger scale, everyone should be impressed.
I am sure that when DD first came out there were people that were dis-crediting them because they were a fairly small company trying to make it in this very competitive market...

Actully I know it was Earl Muntz and LearJet that brought out the first stereos but the first low Fq drivers I believe was RF. And 1973 both Kicker aka Stillwater and RF were born.

What the hell happened to good ol' fashioned functionality. 95% of the time you LISTEN to your music, who cares how big it is, what kind of specs it does, etc. As long as it sounds great/loud/precise to the listener.

the sub may play music just fine and it does have a shat load of excursion... (although I question wether or not 2.5" is really linear)
But a high performance woofer would not weight 370lbs IMO.. Infact you could probably shave a few Gs of the price tag if it wasn't made heavy for appearance sake... that is kind of lame IMO..
I would sooner use a pair of smaller woofer for the same or better overall performance and alot less weight.....
of course I don't drive a blinged out H2 either...
