I seen many on youtube. Asked one guy about his JL and he said it was amazing. I forget what some of the other companies are that make them. They are definitely space friendly. Some will take around 600 watts rms. JL's have their stupid 3ohm impedance coils on them though.

MTX & Kicker also have Slim Sub offerings.
Pioneer did, but I'm not sure if they still do.

The MTX work very well from my experiences, and only need a small box.

The Pioneer and Kenwood are both great performers. I have both in stock right now and the Pioneer would come in well under what you want to pay for a sub. Hit me up by pm, e-mail, smoke signal or msn for more info.

I just put the Pioneer Premier TS-SW1201S4 in and think it sounds great. Very impressed especially for how shallow the mounting depth is. Works great behind the seat.

I don't know about a 12, but I put in the MTX 10 in this rediculously tiny sealed box that FS sells into a full size Chevy extended cab off 2channels of a 50x4 MTX amp and IMO it was very impressive. I was shocked considering the box and the amount of power.

Most brands have them now... if you want to search you might have better luck using the terms shallow mount.
