I say 15a AS well...

If it's anything like my e8a or BIG 8, it is well worth every penny !!!!

IMO,It must be ported no matter what ...

ps: I had a 10L7 (Silver cone) in a ported box, on a fosgate 1000bd...That pounded like crazy, but it was a "SLUTTY" pound. LoL

THE ELEMENTAL DESIGN SUBS ARE REFINED ! They hit the bass note perfectly.

I personall would take the 15a in every situation except in a larger ported enclosure and with above 1000wrms. I would say if you can listen to them both and decide based on which you like better.
Listen to what your talking about!!!! You are talking a 15 with 1000watts of power. What are you expecting? Any decent 15 with that much power will rip your head off and unless you can tell the difference of tonal accuracy at 145db, I don't think it really matters. </font>
So you think sound quality is irrelevant at high power levels? I beg to differ...

Anyway, the point of the question is that I already have a 15A, in a small sealed enclosure. I've found a good deal on Titanium subs, and I'm trying to decide if there's anything to gain by switching up.

So I guess it's pretty well how I thought; lower-powered applications would go to the 15A, while the Eclipse would rule in a higher-powered setup. Guess I'll stick with the A for now, see what happens...

i personally would also take the e15a.i choose this sub over the titanium.Unless you have 1300+ watts and a large ported box, the e15a is the way to go.But sometimes trying new things is good as well.

Well I also like the eD woofers, I have heard many of them and have also heard many of the eclipse Ti woofers. I think that both of them are great woofers but in the end it really depends on what type of music you listen to and really what you are trying to accomplish with your setup. For example I run a single Inhuman 18" with a Visonik 4000xd in 17 cubes tuned to 43 hz. That gives me better punch with high tuning and the sheer enclosure volume still allows the woofer to play excrusiatingly low. So it is all about what you are trying to accomplish. How much power are you going to have??? and how much space are you willing to give up for the woofer???

Well, the recommendations I've received from people who are highly "in the know" suggest that the Titanium would do really well in smaller vented boxes (2.5-3 cuft.), so space isn't really the issue here. As for power, right now I'm running 800 watts. The highest I would go with the new sub would be 1200 probably, on my stock electrical system.

As for what I'm trying to accomplish; you know, I'm not even really sure about that one. I've already achieved outstanding SQ with my 15A, so there's really not much room for improvement there. I guess if I could keep the sound quality while adding a crapload of output, I would be a happy man. Then again, I could probably do that just by porting my 15A. In fact, the more I think about it, I'm a big fool for even thinking about switching subs. Why can't I just enjoy what I have now? My sub sounds like a dream and has plenty of output, even in the sealed box.

I guess what I'll do then is port my 15A and try to forget about the Titanium for a while...
