what are known as the top of the top subwoofers as far as general sq goes, we got w7, xxx, possibly orion H2, idmax? i dont think alpine...what else? Memphis?

 

LOL ppl are talking about completely different woofers here, the Type X and the XXX are completely different woofers, the Type X is an alpine woofer, the XXX is by RE.

and Head to head, the XXX has been chosen as better than a W7 of the same size by a JL rep. in a blind listening test.

Forget both. Wayyyyy too expensive for their worth. Get a MTX 9500 (I got one and I can honestly say it's worth every penny). Almost a sealed a box (triangle port that travels around the box. only a 1.4 cu box) with 1600 watts and I hit 144.6

I'm never buying a different sub again

 

ewwwwww...MTX.........as for above.....I must have been influenced by something to be reading xxx from Type X. Please forgive my blindness, I automatically assumed that the xxx would be the nearest thing compared to the w7. I dont think the Type X even comes close, although im not to fond of the w7 myself, the alpines arnt on my most favourite list either. I am just rooting for the orion H2 because I got one cooming in soon, a little afraid to admit there is something better...lol

 

bah, look at his screen name. I think he's passing judgement based on word of mouth, and on previous product releases. Even the 8xxx series this year is great! I believe last years 8 series is comparable to the 7 series in output. And this years a8 and 9 series are just phenominal!
