yeh it's probably 100 peak watts dynamically into a reactive load.... they just don't say that... lol...

continuous RMS is probably 30-40 x 4, or so....

Guys please stop with the french..it is barely deciferable hehe.

As covered before, it is very improbable the speakers will get 100watts when in suround mode... And like someone mentioned, it might also be a peak rating? I could always check for sure, but I cant remember the model or even the brand heh.

Secondly Eli47, you mention using good tires and better gas on a newer car. Well first off I hope your not comparing speaker cable to tires(it doesnt make sens)... I dont know what your comparing gaz to either... Gaz is dependant on the car, some need higher octane, others will get absolutly no benefit from it.

Stock speaker wires will do just fine in a 50 watts per chanel (approximate) environement. And I also dont beleive there would be any difference in sound between the more expensive cable and the cheeper one. Perhaps if there was a high power amp at hand, then I would consider bigger cables to go with the bigger power.

Things like this makes it really hard to justify buying at shops over the internet. I checked, on the net you can get it for raughly 40% less (shiped with taxes inc) and you wont have some sales guy that is the "audio wizard" tell you you need 300$ in cables.

I know I know..shouldnt of mentioned anything...

I know some of you audiophiles might think that the Monster brand cable would be a lot better but my dad's already got hearing aides. I doubt he'd notice a difference between ANY audio cable
--- LOL the same thing happened to me!!! I was hooking up a friend's new Shaw box and needed an optical cable -- the FS associate told me to get the $80 monster cable -- I can't blame him for trying; however, I can blame him for arguing with me that there is a difference in optical cables (not -- it is light pulses after all) and for looking at me like I was on crack for asking for a TOS link (first saying that they don't exist and then saying I was using the wrong term)! ...So, I went to Visions and the associate there sold me one for $15 and understood what a TOS link is.

* The above is not meant to depict that all FS associates are incompetent. Many shops have incompetent sales people.

Are the ideas behind wiring a home audio system that much different than car audio system? Does anyone here actually use the "scrawny, yet very functional speaker cables" that come with your car speakers? Just curious.
