My current amp is a z edition 800.2 it says max power 1600 watts. Im running 2 12" kicker comps. They are supposed to be max rms 300. So if the amp is trully 1600 that would mean each sub is getting 800 watts rite? My amp took a so im looking to replace it. I wanna only run 1 sub so im not sure what amp to get. Since the sub was max 300 rms i was looking at a 300 watt amp. Im confused on my last setup tho shouldnt my subs be dead, i would bump them all the time. I bought the setup used and installed as is i didnt question it im fairly new to the car audio scene any help would be greatly appreciated.
