Will upgrading amp help for this setup?
#1
Hey, I havent visited these forums for a while, but now that I have a question, im going to hope that I can come back here more often to check the classifieds and such.
Well, my question is this:
Currently I have 2 12" MTX Road Thunders
MTX Road Thunder
Running off the good old MTX 250D Amp
MTX Thunder 250D
It sounds ok, but not as loud as id like it
If I upgraded to the MTX 6500D, would that work better for two of those subs? Becasue they are only rated at 50-200W RMS, will the 6500D be too much for them? Currently they are setup for a 2ohm load on the amplifier, so technically the amp is supposed to give them around 150W each, so I dont know, will the 6500D make it better, or should I just save up for better subs? Thanks!
Oh and just another questions. I listen to mostly techno, and some rap, what would be the best box setup for these subs for that type of music? they are currently in a ported box, and I feel like its a bit too boomy, would going sealed make it sound less boomy, and more, hmm how should I put it... Tighter? Oh and if I go sealed, should I add something to the inside of the box? sorry for all the questions, lol
Thanks!
