that install is better, but you should have the amp mounted to something, like a board or the box.... (dosen't look like it is)

Anway, that sub has an fs of what, 32hz ? that along with the fact that you're tuned around 35Hz means that you are not going to get any bass under 30hz....

haunz just let the guy be and do his thing. this is a prime example of why people go through dozens of equipment changes .
now we have an epic topic concluding that xxx sounds sloppy.

If I add another woofer (I got 3 of em) it'll see 1.33 ohms, about 1300W on that amp? SO next setup is 3 12's sealed with 2200W. I just need a box and 2200W. The XXX sounds a LOT sloppier than the 2 sealed 12s, by a long shot. The SW's actually move a few mm more than the XXX lol.
You have the gains all the way up to full?

Please... have someone install this for you. At the rate you're going it will never sound good and you'll just get frustrated thinking the equipment sucks.

The amp is screwed in. Instead of changing my setup I'm doing the big 3, alt/battery, getting good fronts, and deadening. It's not sloppy to my ears anymore, I just needed some better quality songs, most mp3s sound pretty crappy, on songs like late night tip you can really hear the difference in frequencies, it's very musical, but when it's wangin it is sloppy, it kind of sounds like a really loud WOOMPPP WOOMMMPPP, lol.

I did have someone install it for me, they couldnt set the gains because I locked the deck. The deck woofer gain I leave zero'd with the eq -12@60hz, amp low/high pass is set to 20-60. Theres a control that says bass eq, it pretty much makes it louder. What should I set the gains to, half? I don't think it's distorting at all. Time to tinker.

Haunz you were right, I listened to 60-20hz, and it pretty much dies below 30hz although 25 and 20 were audible, 30-50 was in your face. I turned the amp gain down to a little less than 3/4, and still it's the same output. I don't have a cap, and the woofer shut off on me today when it was belching something bassy. I turned the deck off/on and it was fine, not enough power? The amp was cold, and it didn't shut off again. Also, the deck to amp wire has left/right (red/white), but I noticed when I turn the music down all the way, there's still signal noise (a low humming), if I take out the red plug, there is still bass but no noise when theres no music, should I leave it in or out? Is that normal?

you are not going to get any usable output below the tuning frq of the box, in fact you can blow the woofer. and the gain control is not a volume control it should not be set to full unless your deck only has .5 volt output. You can make FULL power with the gain at zero if you have 5-7 volt(depends on amp) output from your deck.

Not sure of the model but looks the same (Panasonic 7" LCD flip/touch screen), paid $650.

Okay, so I'll turn the gains down on the amp and set the filter to 30hz, and see what happends when I turn up the gains on the deck. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be nearly as loud.

I set the filters so that -30hz and +50hz aren't audible, it sounds better. The amp gain is 1/3 full and the deck gain at +10 is full output, even at -5 it's annoying, my rearview won't stay put.
