Do differences + money always = better?

Please excuse someone as uneducated as I am in the field of conductors... but isn't it possible to hook a scope or some sort of test equipment to see exactly how a signal is passed across a wire?..

If the signal is the exact same coming across 2 different wires, wouldn't that basically mean they sound the same?

There are more senses available to us than the five basic ones.
If anyone has all the answers as to how the universe is put together, they aren't on this board.
As far as the purity and signal passing capabilities of copper, well better wire costs more. There are home audiophiles that spend ten grand on their speaker cable...lot's for sale on E-bay too, so maybe they came to their senses(all five?).
If a few electrons don't go astray, amongnst the billions interacting in your wire is it worth something, even if your lousy ears can't detect it? Just cause you can't sense it, don't mean it ain't there!

Now how bout this....is ultra expensive 16ga wire better than $2/ft 8ga for speaker wire?

I too find it funny that there is not one single blind test in which someone (anyone) has actually heard a difference.

As soon as people can see what wire is being used they instantly hear a difference.

I have drawn my own conclusions from this, as well as from my own blind and sighted tests. I know what to listen for, I know how to listen and I have very good ears. Yet I have never been able to hear a difference, even on high end gear.

Doing a blind test to determine something as esoteric as the subltle differences between wire would be very dificult to set up...the changes in mood, state of mind, and the pressure of the test would be very inconsistant. Buy some really good cable, use them for a month or so, then go back to the cheap stuff....maybe you'll miss it, maybe not.
Most people can't hear the difference between amps, let alone wire.

And how do you know what to listen for, if you've nver heard the difference?
