what is causing this?

i have a old school us acoustics amp and it has a left and right chanel in. if i plug both of them in the speakers go back and forth slowly and make a quit thump thump thump noise. if i unplug one of the rca jacks this stops then plug it back in and after a couple minutes it starts again. this goes away if i turn the music up load.

is this magnetic resonence? how do i stop it. im using rg6 coax line with very nice male/female connectors and everything is soldered.

kinda sounds like the amp is putting out DC, like said above it most likely needs to be repaired or replaced
