I'm not sure, like what do most people think of kicker? Oh yeah umm for speakers for say 250 can u get a pretty decent set? Would it be cheaper to go with 1 15' sub? but would it still make as much bass.

I like kicker. From what I've heard, many other people do as well. I'm running a single 15" and so far I prefer it to what I have ran in the past. (2 x 10", 4 x 10", 1 x 12", 2 x 12") Keeping in mind that I am running a much higher quality sub than ever before. I love my DD. Once again, I think we need more input. A single 12" "super sub" can eat a 15". It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend per sub, amp and box.

*ADDITION*
Depending on your listening habits, I have heard that you are better off dumping more money into your front stage and not have any rear speakers. If you are like me and you like your rear passengers to be able to hear the words in your music, you might want to get some rear speakers as well. You should be able to find a decent set of components for $200. Keep in mind, the higher power you go on your speakers, you will need an amp.

$2500 buget (less $500 on install and crap), less gst, = 1850.00. SPL in the sense that most people think alone cost this much and more. Time to find some deals I think. I have a friend (SARTECH here at CFB Comox) that has a used Eclipse 7" lcd / dvd he is looking to part with. Add a good sub and the proper amp to power two of these subs in the future and you are on your way to a nice SPL setup. For now due to the budget, build the box for two subs and add the second sub when $ allow, or drop in a single 15" and hope the results are the best for you. Your vehicle is a metal coffin, totally different than all these guys driving around in Cavaliers, Sunflowers, Rustangs and whatever else they have that do not have a solid metal rear wall and rear deck. SPL and your vehicle is going to take some work.

Going big on a sub, even a single sub means that you must concentrate on a proper amp to power it as well. Build the box properly for that sub and it's application in your car. With all this bass, the other speakers in the vehicle are going to struggle to keep up. You might want to consider adding new front speakers and a amp on them at a later date, or dropping the dvd unit for now and channeling those $ into a cd player, front speaker and amp for them. Lots of options to consider here. Best thing to do is map out the end goal for what you want and then develop the path to get there.

you know what that actually might make sense to drop the dvd for now. Get a decent head unit then power like 2 12's in the back and replace the front speakers. With the lcd out of the way what are we looking at, that i can afford to buy? I know there is 500 at least for instalation so cut that out, I have 2g's to work with.

oh yeah i forget to ask. Getting another amp would that be to only power the front speakers, because of the power of the 2 12's in the back is going to drowned out the front speakers if i dont?

A HU I would recommend is the Kenwood X890. I'm running one right now. It has a usb input and controls an ipod well. The best thing you can do is to investigate a few brand names and decide which features and looks you like best for the HU's out there.

The second amp mentioned would be to power your front stage speakers. Amplifying them will allow you to have a greater amount of undistorted power and ultimately more volume from your front stage. This is desirable because the bass from your subs will drown out your high's and mid's.

Kicker 05cvr15's are still on sale for 98.00 us buy 2. build a box.
AVH-P5700DVD MP3 DVD Player 6.5"LCD Monitor 688.00 us
Pioneer Premier PRS-D3000SPL 439.00 for subs
Pioneer Premier PRS-D4000F 299.00 4 ch
Pioneer Premier TS-D901P 129.00 rear
Pioneer Premier TS-D701P 109.00 front

IF I wanted video, thats what i'd buy. Its all opinion and there are so many choices. But with the HDTV at home, i can't stand little screens of any type. The 17" screen on my laptop is too small.

Don't go with used anything. People sell stuff they don't want. If it was good, they'd keep it.
