Would this work?

It's a fairly tight squeeze but if you're patient a 6.5" driver (that isn't too deep) can fit right in there. Main two problems are clearance on the window at the rear and avoiding rubbing on the panel at the front now that the driver is spaced so much closer to it now.
I prefer using MDF to the prefab units as they are more solid and you can play with it more (plus they're cheaper).
I used a 5/8" MDF spacer and a shallow depth driver to solve the problem in my car.

Yeah no on the tightness lol.... at first i held it in place before screwing it in place with the window down and it was hitting.... soo before I went and hacked apart I held it in place moving the window down to see when it would hit and it didnt so must have been how I was holding it but yeah it just barely fits n there...yeah if I had abit thicker mdf I would have preferred that as well but wasn't going to buy a sheet for couple lile adapters...I counter sunk the mounted holes as well so I can use the orignal screws and bolt location as the stock one... now for them to line up is another story.... when my buddy gets back with my camera I will take a couple pics....

So I got it mounted in... everythings all in place however I think I may have ran into space issue with the door skin like u mentioned if I leave the bass minimal it's fine but if it's turned up the just over half where u can actually semi feel it, u hear that noise like something hitting or touching the surround on the speaker.. so other then trying to counter sink the speaker what else could I do ? Granted this is factory deck so not to worried about it yet but for the future when I get one in it. Now another question... where's a good place to mount the tweeters doors are easy but was thinking somewhere on the dash but not really sure.
Thanks
Thanks
