that is sorta true, depends on sub and application. My last pair of twelves called for box@ 3.2cubes, where my new 15 should be between 2.5-3 cubes. All depends on a persons taste for what they want for sound as to which woofers to go with. I personally will never buy anything over a 12 again, they get sloppy. Bass is deep, but just seem sloppy it not tight like say a pair of tens

 

Go with the SoloX 18 bro. I'm running 2 of them in a 20 CUBE BOX tuned to 30hz off 2 orion xtr prop 2400's. The low end is retarded...----> RETARDED!!! Even at 26hz! MADD flexxxing though cuz I got no deadening. I heard 1 18 solox in a 6 cube box off an earthquake d3 and it was just nuts. Go with that 18, just give it air and at LEAST 2Kw of power. Quality in the upper end is ehhhhh... but lowws is what you want anyways.

 

What kind of vehicle do you have all that squeezed into? how much port area?

 

Its squuezed into a chevy tahoe 2 door. Not much port area at all. I think roughly 120- 150sq.in. total. Kicker calls for 150 a sub. I want to build a wall but ive never built one and im running into trouble with box dimensions vs my desired port dimensions.

 

lol 2 solox 18's, id love to hear that , i myself am looking for a replacement for my 2 dd3512's, and from what im hearing about the solox.. i might look into it, how much do they run?, i know the local shop a while back had on hanging on an engine hoist, with a price tag of $2,000, i dont know what they are now.. that was about 2 years ago.
