if i were you i'd wire it all at 1 ohm and see if the amp can take it. chances are it will work. just turn the gain lower.

..............actually i have thought about doing this. As already mentioned earlier, i can crank this infinity 611a for several hours at a time in 2 ohms mono, pushing full power and only feels warm to the touch. Not bad considering i bought it at future shop at the last boxing day sale for $188.00, brand new in the box, factory sealed. last one in stock. Gotta love large electronic retail chains. ............The amp is rated at 450rms@4ohms mono. 650rms@2 ohms mono. If it runs 1 ohm without shutting down, i wonder if it will continue to make more power?.........Anyone out there running an infinity 611a in 1ohm mono???

silly question. how is an amp going to produce more power than it's rated to do?

that's like asking why a 105 HP honda engine wont produce more if you red line it all times.

no amplifier exists that produces more power than it is designed to produce. unless it was purposely under rated by thousands of watts like some cheater amps.

I can give you a whole list of factors which would prevent an amplifier from producing more than it is designed to produce. But what I want to see is you giving me at least 2 factors which would allow an amp to produce more than it is supposed to.

let's make this thread an educational one.
