common sense to me! Take away the power advantage and you now have a level playing field, its now down to skill.

Talking

Here's a thought from one of the observers.....

Start a thread here and ya'll work out a given equipment list for a 1 season series of shows. Each participant has to use the same amps and speakers, have a limit on the source unit output voltage and only 1 extra battery.

Vehicle choice is up to each player, bad choice and you fry...

After that it's all about the build skills.....who can get the most out of a given set of equipment has bragging rights that will be pretty hard to refute.....

I would love to see that go down this year....keep the costs at a reasonable level so nobody goes broke doing it and you have a good reason for people to come out to more shows just to see how much louder the participants are getting over the course of the season....

It's just a thought......

I can see current competitors trying that out. but IMO, to get new people in, you need to encourage them to run what they bring. and at the same time, keep them away from the CRXs that are at 154+ LOL.

I'm a much bigger fan of capped power classes in street (ie: at least one low power class, as well as an unlimited class to keep the top guys happy). penalties for too much power will hopefully keep things on the up and up. granted, there's a risk that everyone (noobs to pros) will automatically go into the low-power classes....

vehicle classes (ie trunk classes, etc), to keep those cars away from guys running CRXs and Explorers, that would also be fantastic. unfortunately, I've (and others) have been pushing that idea on TP the last few years and are constantly and immediately e-gooned by top guys who have the most to lose by changing anything :/

no, you guys are all dreaming.

the classification should be done by type of a car

trunk
two seater
hatch car
hatch suv
wall

that is it.

much easier classifying by something that is already evident.

what else we dont need is stupid opinions from those who are clueless. we need "IDIOT" classes for all the idiots. class where you do not need speakers, amps or cars, a class where each idiot only has to be himself for a chane to win.

so instead of poeple spending hundreds of dollars on competative equipment you want to force them to spend thousands on a competative car? kinda seems like a backwards process to me.

also, even if everyone uses the same gear the same people will win by about the same amount.

Honestly there is no way to keep thing even but Il tell you where my mindset was. In SS 1-2 im allowed 8 amplifiers and whatever battery to feed them, so I need to spend $1500 per amp "$12,000 for the 8" And 4-6 battery's each amp $800 per "$6400 for all 8" The subs are not a concern, theres only 2 of them. I have an estimate of $18,000 just for amps and battery's.

Option 2 is I can spend $3000 for amps, $1600 for battery and $5,000 or so for a european beater. Running total $9600.

It would cost me almost half to potentially be #1
